Rules and Regulations...

1. Fees:

Scholars:
Class fees are due at the beginning of the school term and are late after the middle of the school term. Fees not paid by the middle of the school term will incur a R20 late fee. Students will not be permitted to take class the following term if fees of the previous term are still outstanding. Payments on a monthly basis can also be arranged.

Adults:
Class fees are charged on a monthly basis and are due at the end of each month. Students will not be permitted to take class the following month if fees of the previous month are still outstanding.

General:
Students will not be charged for classes cancelled by Rhythmic Dance Studio. In such instances, fees will either be adjusted or make-up classes will be arranged. Kindly note that students will not be reimbursed for classes they miss if not cancelled by the studio. No student will be permitted to take part in any dance examinations if fees are not up to date. I am willing to discuss and make alternative arrangements with anyone who is experiencing temporary financial difficulties.

2. Attendance:

I kindly ask that students be in class on time. The beginning of class is an important time to get bodies warmed up and ready to dance. Without a proper warm-up, there is a great risk of injury.

Students are expected to be in class regularly if they want to participate fully in show numbers, competitions and dance examinations. If students are absent regularly, the teacher reserves the right to cut them from sections of the dance or not allow participation in shows, competitions or dance examinations. Please understand that when students are absent, it makes it difficult to clean (perfect) dances and valuable class time has to be taken away from those who attend regularly to get them up to speed when they come back. However, students who have to miss class may pre-arrange for a make-up class. Please note that students will be charged for those additional classes.

3. Dress and Grooming:

General:
Modesty is required. No bare midriffs or revealing cleavage will be allowed. Hair is to be placed in a high pony or bun. Kindly note that no half ponies will be allowed. All hair is to be neatly tied back. Please no jewellery other than small earrings. Jewellery can be a major risk of injury in a dance class.

Kindly note that should the dress code not be adhered to that a notice will be send out to the parents informing them of correct dress.

Tap/Modern Exam Classes:

Juniors:
• Studio uniform (leotard and skirt)
• Stockings or white socks
• Black jazz shoes/tap hoes

Seniors:
• Studio uniform/black leotard with skirt or jazz pants.
• Contemporary dress for modern only
• Stockings (footless or full)
• Black jazz shoes/tap shoes. Seniors can go barefoot in the modern class if desired.

Tap/Modern Open Classes:
As above, but pupils can attend the class with any coloured/style leotard.

Hip-hop:
Any funky clothing will be permitted in class. Please refer to the General section of the dress code.

Salsa:
Comfortable clothing is to be worn. Shoes with a slight heel are to be worn by the ladies.

4. Parents Watching Day:

Understanding the great desire of parents to watch their children in class, ‘Parents Watching Day’ sessions are organised by Rhythmic Dance Studio at the end of every school term. This also gives parents the chance to view the progress of their children as well as to give them the opportunity to discuss any issues or concerns they may have with the teacher.

5. General:

No food or drinks (other than water) are allowed in studio. If students are being disruptive or disrespectful in any way during class, they will be asked to leave.

6. Release:

By signing the registration form, you agree to the terms listed above. You also release Rhythmic Dance Studio from being liable for any injury students may incur as well as damage or loss to student property during and/or after class.
